Ye Olde Activity Books & Lapbooks

These activity books go back to 2005 in origin! The oldest one, “ABCs,” is actually the most complete activity book. The one from 2008, “Moses in the Wilderness” is actually really complete — a 50 page printable chock full of stuff to do. Two others originally had separate “instructor guides” to go with them, but alas! the guides cannot be found! I’m including them because they were on the original site, and some people are fond of them. Again, you get what you pay for, right?

Here you go… Enjoy!

2005 ABCs

In 2005, I had been experimenting with lapbooks and other paper crafting learning tools for my kindergarten-aged kids while reading SO many alphabet books from the library. I decided to make an activity book for passover week. Kind of a cross between playing with the words spoken by Christ and sneaking in the learning alphabet at the same time.

Looking back, I was crazy! This is way too much for a 5 or 6 year old! It is ridiculously thorough. Almost like I had nothing better to do with twins and a toddler. Oh well, I had fun making it!

2005 Heroes

Five-year-old boys like to play heroes and villians, so that was the theme of the next activity book. Bible heroes and villians. However, I did not make this as thorough as the ABCs booklet! You may still find some fun things in it.

Skip ahead a few years

Fast forward to 2008. I wanted to make a really complete lapbook with full instructions– so easy anyone could pick it up and use it with no explanation.

Moses in the Wildness”

Full title: And the Lord Spoke Unto Moses in the Wilderness: Children’s Activity Book, Unleavened Bread 2008″. That pretty much describes it all. I originally made it for my 8-year olds and my 5 year-old.

2009

Because I spent so much effort to put together the spring 2008 lapbook, by 2009, I was just throwing together the content for a lap book and relying on myself to remember how to assemble it. Sorry for the lack of instructions! But you can maybe print pieces of it. It has some fun games for memory verse memorization. I know I got these ideas from somewhere else, but I was lax in referencing my sources or giving credit because they were meant for home use.
